We have some impressive employees in our ranks: from basketball players to marathon runners, from gamers to authors. The Employee Spotlight series aims to highlight the talented individuals who work here.
For this month’s Employee Spotlight, we’re featuring Rose York, Apprentice IT Engineer here at CYBRID.
What do you do at CYBRID?
Apprentice IT Engineer.
What are your credentials/past experience for working in your position?
I am relatively new to IT, I first gained interest in IT when I was hosting a gaming server. Although I no longer host the server, it is still running to this day, so I am very proud that something I created and worked on is still being enjoyed by many people from different areas of the world.
What’s the best thing about your job?
The best thing about working at CYBRID is the opportunity to learn lots of new skills and use this knowledge to help others when solving issues. Being able to build trust with clients is very rewarding. I also enjoy the wide array of different tasks I get to do as it never feels monotonous.
What’s been your proudest moment at CYBRID?
My proudest moment at CYBRID so far has been rebuilding PCs for a language school because the changes I made created a positive impact on all the students and teachers at the school.
Before working at CYBRID, what was the most unusual or interesting job you’ve ever had?
Before CYBRID I used to work in a nightclub and the things I encountered whilst working make for some good, albeit inappropriate, stories.
What’s something new you’ve learned in the past week?
I’m currently learning to drive, and I finally feel confident behind the wheel.
What do you enjoy doing when you are not working?
I’ve always loved the sea and used to sail during my university studies, nowadays I love getting the paddleboard out whenever the weather allows. I’m also learning to code and putting my skills to use as a volunteer developer for my old gaming server.
