We have some impressive employees in our ranks: from basketball players to marathon runners, from gamers to authors. The Employee Spotlight series aims to highlight the talented individuals who work here.
For this month’s Employee Spotlight, we’re featuring Oliver Clark, Senior IT Support Engineer here at CYBRID.
What’s your job title and role?
Senior IT Support Engineer. I provide end-user support and design and install new systems for customers.
Describe working at CYBRID in 3 words.
Challenging, eventful, rewarding.
What’s the best project you’ve worked on in CYBRID so far?
Setting up a new customer essentially from scratch, they were a new company born out of an old company that had ceased operating. I enjoyed setting up a new system from scratch, making sure to follow best practices. After a successful setup, it was very straightforward to manage.
What’s your favourite team memory?
Go-karting. I didn’t come at the top of the pack, but it was a fun day out with the team.
What’s something on your “bucket list”?
Not one thing, but I’ve only spent time in Europe. I’d like to travel further and see more diverse cultures.
What’s your most-used emoji?
😅
Would you rather have a rewind button or a pause button in your life?
Pause. I’m pretty happy with where I am at the moment, but a little extra time wouldn’t go amiss.
Tell us a fact no one would guess about you.
I’m a big Miley Cyrus fan. Though I don’t like her old stuff, her newer stuff is really good. I loved the cover of Metallica’s Nothing Else Matters.
Which team member would you want to be on a deserted island with?
James, I’m sure he’d have built a shelter and a boat to escape before I’d found any food or water.
What’s your favourite film/video game?
Baby Driver, or anything involving Edgar Wright. The way he synchronises the music and action makes for an incredible experience.
Which technology trend do you believe will shape the coming decade?
The move to ARM architecture for general-purpose PC usage. ARM has come a long way from the purely mobile days and can now compete with the Intel and AMD for performance while still being extremely power efficient.
