Employee Spotlight: Mason Crockford, Outsource IT Engineer

We have some impressive employees in our ranks: from basketball players to marathon runners, from gamers to authors. The Employee Spotlight series aims to highlight the talented individuals who work here.

For this month’s Employee Spotlight, we’re featuring Mason Crockford, Outsource IT Engineer here at CYBRID.

What do you do at CYBRID?

I am an Outsource IT Engineer, so I am based on the customer’s site.

What are your credentials/past experience for working in your position?

I was a shift leader at Tesco which helped me with my customer service before the first IT company took a chance to hire me in Jan 2020 and I quickly progressed through the ranks learning a lot about IT and only doing remote support. Then moved on to CYBRID where I quickly learned about more of the physical aspects of IT and got a few accreditations under my belt.

What’s the best thing about your job?

The team! I enjoy everyone I work with and CYBRID really looks after me. Most of the time people can make or break a job, so it’s really good to be where I am.

What’s been your proudest moment at CYBRID?

When I got to use my IPAF license (which allows me to drive cherry pickers and scissor lifts) to take down cameras and other IT equipment from a factory, which proved to be a very scary experience when the wind picked up but was overall very enjoyable and I like putting things that I have learnt to use.

Before working at CYBRID, what was the most unusual or interesting job you’ve ever had?

Working at a funfair when I was in my teens, often allowed me to go onto rides for free and get my other friends on for free. Also got to meet a lot of interesting characters.

What’s something new you’ve learned in the past week?

The difference between an ostrich and an emu is that one has 2 toes and the other has 3.

What do you enjoy doing when you are not working?

I enjoy playing video games, watching TV series, meeting friends, I am looking at getting into Airsofting, I play football most Mondays and like sport overall as well as going to the gym.
