Awards, Advancements & Groundbreaking Projects – All in a Year’s Work at CYBRID

2020: A YEAR IN REVIEW AT CYBRID

As the year comes to an end, we take a moment to reflect on the important events of 2020 and begin to look ahead at what’s in store for us in 2021. It is with no doubt that we will look back on 2020 as one of the most interesting and important years for CYBRID. Together, even through these unprecedented times, we’ve made steady progress towards continuing to develop our team and improving our services. From award nominations to working on prestigious projects, we look back on some of our key highlights of 2020…

STEPS TOWARDS A MORE SUSTAINABLE FUTURE

2020 saw us learn about ways in which CYBRID can help reduce its carbon footprint. We undertook a range of small steps towards being a greener organisation, including eliminating the use of single-use coffee cups and switching to Circular&Co’s reusable coffee cups, finding a solution in Chilly’s bottles to help us move away from disposable plastics, and providing our team with CYBRID-branded uniform jackets that are all made from 100 per cent recycled polyester each using on average nearly 15 plastic (PET) bottles.

THE PEOPLE BEHIND THE CYBRID

Our team is at the heart of what we do, and this year we have welcomed seven new talented members, James Cook, Operations Director,  Josh Fretwell, IT Engineer,  Dan Gray, IT Engineer,  Kevin Gosney, Senior IT Support Engineer,  Chris Penfold, IT Outsource Manager, Laura Strudwick, Executive Assistant and Joe Bateman, Junior Engineer.

Our experienced team have been delivering intelligent IT services and cybersecurity solutions for many years, and this year we continue to develop and hone our expertise and have enjoyed many team outings, including a visit to Thruxton raceway.

INTERNATIONAL RECOGNITION

It seems that all of the hard work from our wonderful team paid off in February with CYBRID being nominated for International Business of the Year at the Portsmouth Business Excellence awards. The Business Excellence annual awards highlight excellence among the local business community and celebrate vibrant and innovative work.

“It’s great to be nominated and to be recognised in a prestigious category. In a competitive sector, you need to stand out from the crowd and the team and I are proud of what we have created. We will carry this recognition forward to help shape the next chapter of CYBRID”, said CEO Phil Henly.

FORGING RELATIONSHIPS WITH STRATEGIC PARTNERS

Awards are fantastic, but great relationships are even better. 2020 saw us join Darktrace’s Global Partner programme, giving us the potential to deploy its world-leading cyber AI platform to our customers, and as this year draws to a close, we continue to foster ongoing close relationships with Datto and Mobotix.

SHAPING THE FUTURE

2020 saw COVID-19 achieve what few CIOs or CTOs have previously been able to accomplish – driving an ambitious technology transformation in a very short time period. Over the course of this year, our team has been working hard to help our clients manage the sudden shift to working remotely. From implementing new communication and collaboration technologies to deploying new remote technologies to ensure minimum disruption to their operations, our talented team members have worked tirelessly to ensure that each and every one of our clients are prepared for the new normal.

GIVING BACK, BOTH HOME AND AWAY

During this challenging year, we have made a conscious effort to ‘give back’ to the local community and support good causes. Without further ado, here are some of the charitable activities we’ve been up to over the past year and a brief overview of the worthy causes:

– Early in 2020, we formed a corporate charity partnership with Canine Partners. Canine Partners trains dogs to assist people with physical disabilities giving them a more independent life by performing everyday tasks.

– We contributed towards African Adventures’ Foundation Christmas Meal Appeal, funding many Christmas meals for children in Kenya. African Adventures Foundation provides support to 26 community projects in developing areas of Ghana, Kenya and Zanzibar.

– We believe that sport is a very important part of growing up. Youth football plays a very important role in this and gives young people skills that will benefit them throughout their lives. With this in mind, we’re delighted to announce that we will be sponsoring a team close to our hearts… Petersfield Town Juniors!

WHAT’S NEXT FOR CYBRID? THE YEAR AHEAD

We believe that the right technology and support can have a transformative impact on organisations. Driven by solving real problems, we simplify the complex and take a long-term holistic view of your relationship with technology and digital. Into 2021, we will continue to enable you to run your business and focus on what you do best, whilst we plan, implement and support your IT and technology.

Last but not least, thank you to our team, partners, clients and stakeholders for making 2020 such a memorable one for the CYBRID team. Here’s to a great 2021!
